Flower Mound United Methodist Church

Marathon was selected to analyze this project after it was determined that the design was significantly over budget for the church. Marathon was successful in value-engineering the project and reducing the construction estimate by over one-million dollars. The project consisted of a hybrid construction design, including over 60’ high concrete tilt-wall panels, conventional steel, and single span glue-laminate wood trusses that were nearly 100’ in length and over 15’ tall. The Sanctuary incorporated a sloped, theater style seating design, angled wall partitions, and elongated supply and indirect air return HVAC systems for acoustical considerations. Finishes included exposed tongue-and-groove stained wood structural ceilings, hardwood raised chancel, and polished concrete. The entry included a 53’ curtain wall system. The high raised glass clearstory provided a unobtrusive but ample flow of natural light to the worship space.
